This study shows that harassment and violence at work continues to be a prevalent problem in Canadian workplaces. Certain groups of workers are at higher risk of experiencing multiple forms of harassment and violence. And certain jobs have characteristics that place workers at risk. Read this report to learn more about harassment and violence in Canadian workplaces and where action is needed to keep workers safe.

This survey shows that domestic violence (DV) is a prominent workplace issue, with 1/3 of those who reported experiencing DV reporting that it affected their ability to work. More than half of the DV survivors said that the violence continued at their workplace, with things like harassing phone calls and stalking. Most DV survivors said it affected their work performance, making them feel distracted, tired, or unwell.

Many respondents reported experiencing workplace harassment, including sexual harassment and discriminatory harassment. The report discusses a range of experiences, the effects of workplace harassment, and recommendations to reduce risk and offer support to victim-survivors.
